Dragon Temple Kamonwas | Wat Mangkon Kamonwas (Leng Nei Yi Temple)

Leng Nei Yi Temple or Dragon Temple Kamonwas or Thai called Wat Mangkon Kamonwas, is a famous Chinese temple in Yaowarat or Chinatown. This temple is the faith center of Chinese Thai people During the Chinese New Year festival.


This temple is very famous among Thai people of Chinese descent and those who have faith in the deity of Cai Xing  Yue god and pay homage to the Tai Sui Yue god to leave fortune and exorcise misfortune to solve the year for the prosperity of life during the Chinese New Year every
This temple was established in 1871. This temple took 8 years to complete. This temple has a southern Chinese architectural style of the Chaozhou family. The construction was laid out like Wat Luang, with the Thao Chatulokban Viharn as the first viharn. The middle part is the Ubosot, and behind the Ubosot is the temple of the gods. This temple was constructed using wood and brick as the main materials.

How To Get There:

  • Take the MRT Blue Line to Wat Mangkon Station, take Exit 3, then turn right and walk about 50 meters, you will see Mangkon Temple on the right-hand side.
