Wat Nong Wang is a significant Buddhist temple in Khon Kaen, Thailand. It's considered the city's most important temple and a must-see attraction.

Established in 1789, the year Khon Kaen was founded, the temple doesn't have any remaining old structures . It gained royal status in 1984 and presently houses over 55 monks and 225 novices .

While Wat Nong Wang itself might seem ordinary, it's the stunning nine-story stupa, Phra Mahathat Kaen Nakhon, that truly sets it apart. This structure is unlike any other stupa found in Thailand
