Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden: Pattaya |
The positive comments first: the place is huge, with beautiful sculptures, colorful hand-made animals of all types possible, shapes and sizes, decorative dogs nature trails, whatever. They even have a car show here (I do not think it matches the general idea of the place).
There were several shows, many different to eat, drink and visit the bathing places. It could have been perfect. Until I saw how the animals were treated. Old and young elephants waiting to take people for a ride were chained to trees with very short ropes, leaving practically no room to move further than just a meter.
Drugged (or rather doped) tigers were exposed to various places, and tourists were invited to touch them and be photographed for a fee. Horrible! I'm glad I saw this place, but would not recommend it as it is today.
My friend, daughter and I visited these gardens and were pleasantly surprised by the size and number of plants/sculptures to see. 100 BHT did a tour as it would be too much to do.
My daughter loved the Skywalk while my friend and I saw the (beautiful) cultural elephant show which is worth paying extra for VIP seats as you get ranked. You can buy 20 bananas Bht sellers carrying sand baskets around the area to feed the elephants seem to like attention.
There are plenty of opportunities to physically interact with elephants if you wish or just sit back and enjoy them.No visit all the grounds of gardens but we do see the birds and there is an emu and the casual in a small enclosure.
This property has been rated 4 stars but I deduct a star as a mid bus tour that arrived at 2:30 am tuvimos as dejar for 5 pm. Lanzado en la cultura y elefante mostrar 1 hora), that precisely tiempo para experimentar realmente el jardÃn. Sin embargo, there were many items that had plastic animals to improve their visual place. A veces divertido, pero otras veces a poco distraer.
I found the show of beautiful culture and well presented in Thai and English. Large television screens also contributed to the clarity of the procedure. The elephant show was sometimes hilarious with lots of opportunities to "give" money to elephants (photo op) or feed them bananas (another photo op).
I felt that I went too far with this practice. You can spend more money raised by the elephant, outside there are also elephant rides
The Garden is nicely decorated with tons of flowers, trees, plants, etc. The show was amazing, especially the elephant show. However, you can certainly say that tigers are heavily sedated so they do not really want to support taking a picture with them.
It is different from elephants in that elephants are intelligent and can be trained, but can not really control / tame tigers to sit and do not harm people unless they fall asleep. Please do something about it because it is unacceptable.
