Excursion along the Choa Phraya River |
One-Day trip to see the three beautiful temples nearby by Chua Phraya river blank by long tail boat. Cursing along Choa Phaya River to see the way of Thai life, sightseeing the scenery along Choa Phraya River. There is a long tail service to go 3-temples along by Cho Phraya River. You just buy one ticket, and then you can visit the three temples.
There is Wat Kanlayanamit Woramahawihan, Wat Ra Kang Kositaram Woramahawihanand, The Dawn or Wat Arun. Start the first temple at Wat Kanlayanamit Woramahawihan. The interesting at here is the biggest Buddha image in Bangkok named “Phra Budda Trai Rattana Nayok” (Luang Po To). Wat Kanlayanamit was influenced by Chinese architecture.
This temple is one of the nine royal temples in Bangkok. The next temple to visit is Wat Ra Kang Kositaram Woramahawihan (Temple of The Bells) this temple was built during the Ayudhaya period (1351-1767) the temple rebuilt during the reign of king Rama I (1782-1809). The large bell was found during the construction at the end of the 18th century, that why this temple was named Wat Ra Kang (the Temple of Bell) However the large bell was moved to the temple of Emerald Buddha.
The last is Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn. It is a famous landmark temple. Wat Arun is well known among tourists. The interesting is the Prang with a height of more than 80 meters which is the highest in Bangkok (for more info you can see my previous review about it). Very cheap to visit three beautiful temples with the ticket is around 30 Baht.
Please be aware that don’t lose your ticket otherwise you need to buy a new one because every time you go to long tail each temple, you need to show the ticket, When you would like to go to another temple just go to the pier in front of each temple at the checkpoints to take the long tail service provided.
There is no limitation to stopping by each temple, then you can take your time to see how beautiful each temple is. Better to start in the morning when the weather is not much hot. In the evening, you can select the fine dining nearby the Choa Phraya river bank (you can see my previous review about the dining place nearby Choa Phraya River)
Along the long tail take you destination, you will see the ways of Thai life. Besides that, you can see the Temple of Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra Keaw from another side of the Choa Phraya River.
