The Giant Swing Or Sao Ching Cha is one of the Bangkok tourist attractions as well as it's great represents an excellent photo opportunity for tourists. Attractive the Giant swing is a large wooden structure that stretches more than 25 meters into the air in front of the adjacent temple. 

The Giant swing in front of the Wat Suthat temple is famous for its large bronze statue of Buddha and is well worth visiting. The history of Giant Swing is a religious structure that was constructed in 1784 by King Rama I, Later on, by King Rama II, 

The Giant swing structure was damaged by lightning, therefore the swing ceremony was discontinued. In 1920 The Giant swing was renovated and moved to the front of the Wat Suthat temple which is the current location and the Swing ceremony was performed until 1935. Because of the accidents and related deaths, the swing ceremony was discontinued. 


The tropical climate caused the teak wood damage, Then in 1959 it was the last renovation, Moreover, in April 2005, it was the major reconstruction because the pillar show serious damage. Six teak tree trunks were used to construct it. The Giant Swing is worth your time to visit as well as the Giant Swing is available to the general public

Take bus no. 10, 12, 19, 35, and 42 or take a taxi to Wat Suthat Temple where you can explore the tourist's attractive one visit but offers you an opportunity to visit the 2 famous places (The Giant swing and Suthat Temple)
